Environmental installation and very poor quality pics

Fresh is a festival about up to date music, calling experimental artist, uncommon sounds and particular visual solutions

The client, City/Dicastero Eventi Lugano, asked the venue’s yard to be transformed into a ghetto, in the meaning of suburbs

Being February, the month of carnival, we did 4 big canvases painting scenes of ghetto stereotipes such as violence, defiance, and basket, instead of the common funny scenes hanging in the carnival’s sheds

In the pantings, the human person is always missing since the ghetto is animated by you waisting time in the yard, possibly bullying others, throwing balls in that big basket we created on the magnolia, drinking on the ring while facing enemies at arm wresling and so on

This work was done in collaboration with Gianmaria Zanda. Alltogether with Damiano Merzari, we nowadays (2020) form the trio running Fresh

Fresh is a festival about up to date music, calling experimental artist, uncommon sounds and particular visual solutions

The client, City/Dicastero Eventi Lugano, gave us complete freedom on the decoration of the entrance, with the aim to make it more visible from the street

Being February, winter time, and being the access way to the venue a bit downhill, we wanted to create (the visual impact of) a jump, like the ones made for ski jumping 

Unfortunately we could not make it with the costs and the new security rules of the city so we went for a guantanamo alike light tower, cataracts wall and cataracts stickers we actually though would have had more impact than the results

The client, Spazio Morel, gave us complete freedom, from choosing the hangar to the subject. This is an hommage to the street

Again we got the smoke coming from the manholes in the cities, we got a way to climb heading us to a space made of very few lights, luminous tires and a parcour to get lost in. Horizontal transparent panels are painted with a roller

Subjects are taken from pictures I took of shapes of slightly different color graffiti removals and shapes resulting from cracks on contrete. This work was done in collaboration with Gianmaria Zanda who did the vertical cutted-of panels
